HEALTHO implemented the Telemedicine Project (Pilot Phase) in six provinces of Afghanistan with the Technical and Financial Assistance of Afghan German Doctor Association (ADAV-Weimer). Technical support and consultation facilities were provided by ADAV-Weimer while HEALTHO was responsible for clinics setting up and correspondences with Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) Afghanistan. Tele-medicines services were being provided in Ghazni, Bamyan, Kundoz, Helmand and Saripul provinces. The MoPH introduced the concerned staff in one Health Facility in each of the targeted provinces. HEALTHO conducted two days training workshop for the concerned staff of MoPH. Through
Telemedicine project a large number of patients consulted German doctors and got diagnosis and treatment prescriptions. For Tele-consultation all related information about a specific disease of the patient were entered into Telemedicine software. The pilot phase of the Project started on 10th February 2017 and completed on 31st December 2018.
